Benarx Pipeshells is an optimal solution for passive fire protection of pipes. The prefabricated design saves valuable installation time and allows installation in all weather conditions without the need for covering. This also reduces the need for on-site work with epoxy and thinners.
The slim design effectively prevents collision problems and provides better access in tight areas, which are often challenging for traditional pipe fire insulation.
The system's mechanical strength, presence of an air gap to prevent corrosion under insulation (CUI), and the ability for easy removal contribute to low lifetime costs and long-term durability.

Application
Benarx Pipeshells can be used for passive fire protection and also possesses acoustic insulation capabilities for class A and B according to ISO 15665 without additional insulation. The system has a Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) reducing property due to the air gap between the product and the pipe.
If the product is equipped with pre-applied thermal insulation internally, it can also be used as a combined thermal insulation and passive fire protection system. Benarx Pipeshells can be used without insulation on pipes with operating temperatures between ambient temperature up to 120°C on straight sections, and up to 80°C where the product is installed in direct contact with the pipe or insulated against the pipe by a casing, etc.
For pipes outside of this temperature range, it may be necessary to add insulation internally. Contact Beerenberg for guidance and calculations of the necessary thermal insulation thickness for temperatures above 80°C.
Tested for HC-fire in accordance with BS476-20 for up to 180 minutes
Tested for UL1709 rapid rise hydrocarbon fire for up to 120 minutes
Tested for jet fire in accordance with ISO 22899 for up to 180 minutes
Tested for HHF Jet fire for up to 30 minutes
Tested for explosion resistance up to 1.2 bar
Certified and type-approved by Lloyd's Register
Tested and certified for CSP (Cryogenic Spill Protection) for up to 60 minutes for both immersion type and jet type scenarios
