Beerenberg's expertise covers the entire life cycle of the petroleum industry from field studies and new construction to maintenance, modifications and life extension. Beerenberg has a turnover of 2.2 billion and has 2,200 full-time employees. Headquartered in Bergen, the company has offices in Stavanger, Skien and has operations in Poland, South Korea, Thailand and Singapore.

Beerenberg's robotization of surface treatment offers great opportunities for facilities offshore and onshore. New solutions can make maintenance work more efficient, ensure sustainable maintenance and reduce challenging and taxing tasks for professionals. Today, only parts of the surface treatment are done with the help of robots, but this will increase in line with technological development.

CEO Arild Apelthun emphasize the changeover will take place with the help of the expertise of the professional personnel.

- We see that surface competence is absolutely necessary. At the same time, there will be an increased need for knowledge about robot technology. This also provides greater opportunities for those who are interested in the subject, says Apelthun.

Digitization has also made everyday life more efficient. Through the FieldBuddy app, foremen and engineers can now document, report and take notes in the field. The company's Sustainability Dashboard provides access to measurements on important KPIs. Both solutions collect, simplify and improve the quality of data capture, so that data is always available where it is needed. Another example is 3D scanning of objects for insulation. This was an effective solution for measuring fire boxes for a large project in Asia in the middle of the pandemic.

The green shift and increased energy costs actualize the need for energy efficiency. Here, more efficient insulation systems can result in lower energy requirements, which in turn leads to lower CO2 emissions and costs.

We feel that there is a shift in the market towards more suitable and environmentally friendly insulation solutions, says Apelthun.

Beerenberg develops new products and insulation solutions that can contribute to lower energy requirements, and which at the same time take care of other conditions such as corrosion under insulation. Regardless of technology and product solutions, the employees are Beerenberg's most important resource. The company works actively to arrange for employees to take vocational certificates and other subject-specific courses - and is also concerned with management development based on the company's values and vision.

The development opportunities are many with us. We facilitate both professional development and career opportunities and offer management training programs at all levels, from chairman to senior management training, he says

Beerenberg also works within the industry and transport segment, for example by developing cost-effective insulation solutions.

- We bring the experience and expertise from oil and gas to new areas and work actively to adapt our services to new markets, says Apelthun.

For more than 40 years, Beerenberg has delivered innovative service solutions to a wide range of industrial enterprises. The group is one of the leading suppliers of maintenance and modification services on the Norwegian continental shelf, in addition to being a global supplier of insulation products.
