It is an intensive project with a number of different disciplines working simultaneously to complete the vessel owned by Island Offshore. “This particular combination requires strict co-ordination and focus on safety,” explains Kjetil Stöckel-Kvamme, Managing Director of Bouvet Industries, adding: “At the same time it’s important that the intensity of the project does not compromise the quality of the execution. That is something we always have to keep in mind.”
This is Bouvet Industries’ first contract with Vard Brevik, and when it was awarded just before Christmas in 2018 it only took a few weeks until work was underway. “Work began on 7 January, which is when our first crews arrived on site,” says Stöckel-Kvamme.
Bouvet Industries was founded in 1970 and now has a workforce of around 70. The company offers insulation, scaffolding and surface treatment services and works across all of southern Norway. Its largest projects tend to be at the industrial hubs in Grenland, while its biggest customers are Yara, Norcem, Skanska and Veidekke.
