With the local content of DSL having an impressive track record over the past 25 years in Thailand for industrial coatings, fireproofing, scaffolding and a smaller footprint in insulation, the collaboration with Beerenberg and their much higher profile insulation services makes for a very powerful force within the region, both for onshore and offshore activities.
The first confirmed project for the new company is for a major player in the fabrication yards of Thailand in Aibel of Norway on their JSP2 Topsides project supplying and installing insulation.
While this is the first project the JV has been awarded, both Beerenberg and DSL have previously provided services to Aibel over the past decades and are very familiar with their local personnel and operating procedures so there should be a seamless synergy from the word go.
The long term vision is for a fully comprehensive and integrated approach to new build projects and also maintenance work on existing plants and offshore facilities throughout the region served with the in country JV and supported by both partners in Thailand and Norway.
Current and past customers for DSL Thailand include Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Inpex, Chiyoda and PTTEP with services provided covering the full range of the company´s expertise and this combined with the global experience of Beerenberg together makes for a powerful force in the regions industrial services marketplace. Beerenberg's own product series Benarx®, which will be available locally in Thailand, will be one of the main asset in a high value offering to clients in the region.
